OK, it's like this- this phone is made specifically for Japan. It only has the hardware necessary to work there. It is not available in America, and even if it was it wouldn't work (the only reason they . Then it was remade with hardware that will work in the rest of the world; that model is called the SH6010C. That is only available via eBay. Now that you know, you can try and get one. But it isn't cheap (hey, Cameron Diaz is advertising it!)- expect to pay over US$300 but no contract required.

Because it features Cameron Diaz. They love her and it just doesn't work to have her surrounded by Japanese people... or something.
(and unfortunately it's actually 3G-only, which I hear is still kinda crappy in America, so you probably want the GSM version, the SH6010C, instead)
