This patient has left forehead pain due to frontal (forehead) sinus blockage. The frontal sinus drainage pathway has been stretched by balloon sinuplasty and a 'Vortex' irrigation catheter has been passed into the sinus. The sinus is then flushed with saline and thick infected mucus is seen to come out - this is so tenacious that it blocks the sucker introduced to remove it ! The flushings on the second occasion are demonstrable clearer. This patient woke up from their anaesthetic without a headache for the first time in over a year !
