I am kind of frustrated because I always thought that Apple made great products. However, my iPhone's touch screen has recently died as it can't sense touch. Being in that condition, I can't "slide to unlock, let alone do any other functions." I am taking my phone to the Apple store in a few days and hopefully they will be able to replace it or repair it. Wish me luck.

I just came back and they said that they can't do anything because they want me to activate it with AT&T to "verify that the phone's software isn't damaged"? Basically a trick to get me to sign up. Of course I didn't, so they declined to replace my phone. Any suggestions?

  • Press the TOP botton and the HOME botton. KEEP PRESSING until you see the APPLE SIGN. Don't be fooled when it goes BLACK. KEEP PRESSING until you see the APPLE BOTTON, and then, it will work.

  • @CulchaMix3000 get something charp or anything that can PRESS THE BOTTON. If you couldn't do it alone, get someone to PRESS IT, WHILE you are pressing the HOME BOTTON for 10 seconds. Ipod or iphone GOES BLACK. KEEP PRESSING even when it's BACK, and DO NOT release until you see the apple sign. This is actually DISCONNECTING the battery from the phone and refreshing the power again.

  • the top button dont work T.T

  • @patrickharb thank you! it's very effective :)

  • @patrickharb after doing that ... when the ipod restarts will it show lock screen or main menu?

  • @patrickharb Sharp***

  • @patrickharb its still not working for me. Stupid apple product.

  • @patrickharb hey thx buddy that worked and helped me alot

  • What mine does is sometimes just suddenly stop working.

Then I can push the on/off-button to put it in standby, then turn on the screen again and it simply works again...

Which is really stupid, because it acts like it doesn't function, it just won't, but actually it's not really broken as it instantly works after turning off the screen and back on...

My Ericsson has a similar thing. When the LCD-screen goes standby and I press a button, only the backlight wakes up and the LCD after restart...
