I have Apple TV 40gig and a Roku Box and I think the Roku Box is much better.

When I buy content from iTunes I have to back up my files, but I can buy content from Amazon on Demand and watch on my Roku Box and I never have to back up anything I can stream the content I bought anytime.

The hard drive on the first Apple TV is nice as it frees up your router if other people are using the internet.

I see you're a PC fan so I'd say just get a Roku Box. I have a lot of apple equipement and i'm happy with the apple tv, I never use streaming as my wife is a maniac and has lots of movies on hard drives. I'm also happy with Air play. Remote app for Iphone and iPad works fine too :)

I will stick to my first gen Apple TV. Its the one with a 160 gig hard drive. Just need to find a quality hack for it.

@Technoguy3 It takes about three minutes I guess but it goes into sleep mode when your not using it, so when you want to watch TV it wakes up less then a second.

Go for the Roku Box its so much better.
