Excerpts from Derek Jarman's movie "Jubilee". Part 1. Just a teaser from the start.

Many people thinks it's a punk-movie, in fact it's the anti-punk, humanistic art. Derek Jarman, the artist, the painter, the poet and a big lover of ancient art, shows us the culture collapse, the modern decadence ages, where the street punks, a bunch of anarchists is nothing but a dummies, figure of "regime fighter", who actually is very easy to buy, make "commercial".

This movie worth seeing, it's beautiful and clever. It's not plotless as many thoughts.

  • this is something.

    this is a gem.

  • I would not describe it as an anti-punk movie, but as a statement of where society was going and has gone.

When Borgia Ginz describes the youth as "the generation that grew up and forgot to lead their lives, they were so busy watching my endless movie" he prophesied the world we have today,

This film was a reaction to the direction the world was going in, and so was the punk movement.
