i grew up in winston salem and was a 2nd generation student at NCSA...i left NC and now live outside cleveland...the BS, pain, and depression i had to endure in NC growing up there still affects me today....I grew up around alot of die hard helmes fans...im glad he is gone...that whole behavior needs to die off and the genreation that feed so gladly into it..I wont be moving back to nc..I think id rather live in a cardboard box under 480 in cleveland winters first.

I can find very little redeeming about Helms. At least with people like Strom Thurmond and Robert Byrd, you could sense some kind of regret toward the end, (whatever that's worth). There was some decency there, even if it took a long time for it to show. I never once saw that with Helms. It's like the person said in the clip, "it's one thing to be ignorant, it's another to be aggressively ignorant".
