class band Thee Hypnotics....saw em support the Damned in 88 i think.... then at Plymouth when only 20 odd people turned up.....can someone upload a song called 'Nine Times' please....it kicks muther fuckin ass
is this the ULU gig where mr pepper slammed his bass into the stage and broke the headstock off his fender and had to borrow the support bands dan electro long horn bass..for the encores... not quite MC5 looking, but did the trick.. i remember him being really pissed off. First saw them in 89 at the finsbury park hotel... always a treat live, a good scene!
@newtonbraddell - I was at Reading too - I thought they were a bit sketchy tbh, but what the heck. I got in an argument later with some idiots who said they were from the same town as them. They hated them because "They dress like that even when they go to the shops!" as if that was a BAD thing. I didn't see their T shirts!
yeah, i was stood just behind him, they were awesome that afternoon, i remember they did some cover of a Lords of the New Church song, i band they seemed to love but i didnt understand why, it was a great cover though.
This is great stuff, thanks for posting. I used to listen to Half Man Half Boy all the time. They did rock like few have ever rocked. I saw them at the Reading Festival 1990(?): there was a guy right at the front of the crowd wearing a t-shirt that said "I hate Thee Hypnotics", and he spent the whole set yelling abuse at them. Weird.
