@shotojojo1986 - Well said. Show me someone who says he has a perfect kata and I'll show you someone full of BS.

excellent use of the back leg. I bet if I stood on that while straight I wouldn't be able to bend it. Much of the power seems to come from his excellent emphasis on this.
Sensei Paul, is this your secret to powerful execution? Hope you could give me pointers ossu your karate is for real

THIS is KARATE!

Wow! Very impressive. Great technique- very crisp.

Armchair quarterbacks, give the guy a break. This kata (hyung) is excellent. "get lower, point toes, bleh." This kata has power, flow, rhythm, tension, relaxation. A+!

It was nice and powerful but spiritless.
If you look at all these videos on here you that no one actually brings the kata to life.

People are so critical of others, yet I never reveal themselves when it comes to their own execution of Karate Do.

nice kata! great kime! only 1 critique..... at 1:08, don't raise the height of your stance when you turn, even though it's not a stance technically when you bring your feet together, your hips should stay at the same height.......don't raise then up.

Very precise and sharp, great job.
Did you learn the method of Shotokan? That by our method, (Shotokan), at the end of the kata,
Kiva dachi stance when the last traffic movement should be slow, with "kiai" ongoing, is not it?
Good job on the kata. I noticed that in the last sequence of moves you perform the Neko-Ashi-dachi with tension. In other videos like that of Kanazawa Sensei he moves through that stance very quickly into the side straight punch. Is that a matter of interpretation for you?

Not exactly sure where you see neko ashi dachi but I'm guessing it's the posture on the very last turn (after the last stamp kick). I'd put the pause down to a couple of factors... 1) interpretation, and 2) most of the postures in this performance have been emphasized for instructional purposes. Thank you for your comments

Make sure to recoil those kicks, and don't let that kiba dach be so sloppy. Point those feet straight ahead and push those knees to the sides. Get lower.

"Point those feet straight ahead and push those knees to the sides. Get lower." Thanks for your comments, unfortunately I'm not build like that (oh how I wish I was! lol) unfortunately my feet won't turn in more than that with my knees pushed out so much, also I can't get any lower without either turning my feet out or sticking my bum out. I suppose the kiba dachi you see me do in this clip is probably my optimum compromise of all elements. Thanks for the feedback though
