  • I've seen you practice so many styles.. so tell me.. Wich one do you think is most practifull of them? wich one is your natural reaction in a situation, and tell me dont you get confuses with all tehnics, or? I know that you studied tai chi and Wing chun and this, but wich one do you feel is most pracitufull for you?

  • @shiifu My street fighting skill was developed between 1981 and 1991 before I started training Wing chun, taijiquan, Shaolin etc. Since I started these styles I never had a serious physical fight on the street so it's difficult to say which technique is most practical. When sparring I can stick to one style or I can flow between styles. The energy I receive from my opponent determines which technique I use. I never get confused because I drill each technique until it becomes part of me.

  • @shiifu I found Taijiquan theory very helpful on the street. I was able to use the idea of being soft but still having energy to overcome an opponent who was being tough and by doing so I was able to avoid some potentially serious physical combat situations. Another time 2 guy threatened me. 1 had a gun the other had a knife. That time I used a slightly more aggressive ( shaolin) method to talk the situation down and it worked very well. Those guys became friends of mine! this is my experience.

  • Good stuff :-) Good luck with your practice !

  • Thanks!
