Colleen Evans with students from Carver Elementary demonstrate this activity. Part 2 shows many set up activities for the song of Toe Knee Chest Nut including an art component as well. The introduction is the same as Part 1 (to skip the introduction on part 1, go to 2:37). Parts 1 and 2 should be done on different days, and in fact, the lesson can be done over several days.

Grade Level: K-2
Requires: Music for Toe Knee Chest Nut, media player, paper and marker

Addresses Wisconsin Physical Education Standard 1: "Demonstrates competency in motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of physical activities."

This video is shared as part of the Active Schools Initiative, which provides strategies to teachers and students for motivating students to be physically active outside of their physical education classes. http://dpi.wi.gov/sspw/physicaled.html

Video produced in 2010-11 by Milwaukee Public Schools with support from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. Thanks to Colleen Evans, Carver Elementary, and the students!
