If I had a time machine, there are many things I would do, but right now I'd go back to the performance of this song, and at 1:08 I would take a phone book to the side of the head of the stupid bitch who yelled "Freebird!" I just discovered this song yesterday and it's amazing, as is the sad story of the man who wrote it.

i have never been a fan of mayer but it impresses me the covers he chooses that I have heard from his live material. He seems to have great taste in music including this relatively unknown to the general public Jackson C Frank gem. Jackson C Frank's debut is among the very best 60's folk albums I have heard and I recommend it to any folk fans.
