Me playing my Kimball Piano.

Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee
Symphony No. 9 - Finale: Ode to Joy
Written by Ludwig van Beethoven
Arranged by Dino Kartsonakis
Adaptation by TheWannaBe2007

Recently, one of the guys I work with said that he was concerned for my emotional well being, because my last several posts seemed rather depressing and morbid. I told him that on my next post, I would try to do something more "happy." This was the result.

This piece was originally arranged as a piano solo, meant to be played with an accompanying cassette track. Unfortunately, when I got the book, the cassette was not with it. So, I had to do some adapting and improvising to make up for the missing parts the cassette track had. I've also played this a couple of times at church for special music.

My apologies for the unscripted vocal solo right at the height of the song, but some things just can't be helped. I wish the dynamics were more obvious on this recording, but you can tell where the song gets loud, because the camera shakes at times from me beating the keys so hard.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy listening to this one as much as I enjoy playing it. It starts off a little slow, but it picks up soon enough. Enjoy!

  • Interesting. Thanks for posting this. For the record and for all it matters, Kimball is headquartered in Jasper, Indiana. Maybe you should submit this video to them as an example of how this model sounds? Again, thanks for posting this.
