That you for doing a video on both these printers as I'm interested in both, but not sure which one would suite me best. Using it for home office, but want it to be fast, etc etc. I like the 8500, the LCD screen is something new for me, the print speed is amazing,!, and design is lovely. Its a bit more money, than the 6500 which is also very good for a cheaper price. Its great that they are both Wifi and Ethernet, as i would hook it up to my desktop, Wifi for my Laptop. I'll go for the 8500 ;)

@gonzaload87 i got my 6500 from amazon for $99 with no tax and free shipping, cant beat that. you can check for the 8500 there or google shopping search, which i use often.
I tested the 6500 mac and windows to print wireless and it runs fine. I haven't ran through wireless scanning, as i didnt set that part all up..but the usb scan works fine for me. On the digital screen display, it gives me options when i initiate a scan, i.e. scan to pdf, scan preview, scan to jpeg, and other options.

@kidhalo Thank you for the advice, i was looking some new and confortable to work with everyday papers, but that hp 8500 it's very nice, hope to find it so i can buy it :p
BTW, have you tested with mac or windows ?

@gonzaload87 I havent tested it my self with legal paper; but what i can tell is that the platen glass flat bed does not to fit to the size of legal paper..
however the top document feeder accepts stacks of paper nicely and accepts legal sizes according to specs.
FYI the specs for the 8500 show that it has a legal sized glass flatbed, which if that is something you want. = D

@kidhalo Can you tell me if can i scan legal pages with the HP 6500 ? Thanx!

i want one of those :)
I have the 8500Pro with the touch screen & am happy with it. I'm still using the original ink carts that came with it for photos, docs, & text (400 print jobs). A nice feature is the web-based management; just browse to the printer's IP address.
The printer occasionally loses its wireless connection, though there is a firmware patch that may fix the problem. I bought the printer from JR.com last October for $269 with free shipping. I also got a $50 rebate for recycling an old printer with HP.

@snarkyman We are always glad when someone makes a purchase and is happy with the product. I like how you acknowledged both good and bad points; spoken like a true gentlemen. Many people will benefit from your comments, thanks!
