Administrators in Wharton, Texas have a policy that says students can be paddled for Level four offenses which includes harming others, drug related issues and the like. Administrator paddlings are primarily targeted at black and brown children for Level ONE offenses such as not bringing a signed note to school, tardiness, making silly comments that children make such as, "It stinks in here!" One student was paddled four times for such reasons between the start of the school year and the month of December 2008. Paula Flowe went to the school to meet the assistant principal, Mr. Black, who has been in violation of these paddlings. He dashed away down the hallway to avoid an appointment previously set up to discuss this matter with Ms. Flowe. Paula shouted down the hallway to him: We have an appointment, Mr. Black." He refused to stop. She warned him, "We're watching you. We know you are bending little girls over your desk spanking them outside of school protocol." He continued to hurry down the hallway. If what he is doing is right and helps children to do better in school, then why wouldn't he want to talk to Ms. Flowe and express the use of his powerful tool, the paddle. Why wouldn't he want to explain why he spanks little black and brown girls in his office for offenses that are at level 1 if what he is doing is the right thing to do in his "professional opinion." Please call and ask him this question yourself: 979.532.6840.
Paula flowe you make me want to vomit. You disgusting racist filthy piece of shit. kill yourself please.

paddlings targeted at blacks & hispanics??? I'm white & got plenty of swats for being late to classes & other minor violations. I guess abuses against white children doesn't help your racist agenda

illeagle for the girl to tell the person about to paddle them that, "Hey, I'm kinda on my period right now." Sure, it's embarassing for the girl AND the person, but it saves her from extra pain. I'd tell him that I'm on my period if I was and I'm not lying about it. Because I'm pretty sure that a girl wouldn't do that. If they weren't on their period, they'd just have to take the pain.

Paddling isn't really child abuse, child abuse is freakin' beating the shit out of your kid with a belt to the back, slapping them across the face. A spanking is just a form of punishment, maybe the people believe that a child sitting in a class room for an hour teaches them nothing. Seriously, it's not that bad sitting in a classroom, doing nothing. The people actually want to teach them a lesson; to let them know what they did is wrong, and that they shouldn't do it. & I'm pretty sure it isn't
