The camera mode on the BlackBerry 9780 will suddenly refuse to capture snapshots. The only way to fix this was to pull the battery and reboot the phone but the issue will come back soon after boot up. I've come across an alternate method that will save some of that headache until RIM+ your carrier releases an update.

  • @danishrulex I have never brought a Bold 9780 out of the box running BBOS5, that’s odd. It should be possible to upgrade it via the BB Desktop Manager for Windows...

  • how do you take pictures in black and white?

  • @tyreearmy I don't believe that's possible...

  • Is there a fix/update for this yet? This works, but it's a bit of a fail.

  • @22Eduardo9 I dont use my mobile camera enough to know the downsides to use'n this method but T-Mobile USA is now use'n "Platform: 6.5.0.136 App Version: 6.0.0.448 (1879)" which is an update from the version in the video. I have not experienced this bug w/ this newer OS update...

  • Thank you so much for this video! It helped me a lot! I bought the BlackBerry bold 9780 a few days ago and had the same problem. And now it works.. thanks to you! :)

  • @RaZORshit If you have the patience for that then yes, that works temporarily but the issue returns. Constantly pull'n the battery would get annoy'n real fast...

  • try a battery pull.....after that should work just fine :)

  • I took out my mini sd-card an rebooted it, worked for me!
