I fix my PS3 (black screen issue) once before, but this time I'm now getting flashing red light. It use to turn on and after a hour or so it turns off with flashing light. Now all I get is them dam red light :(

And I'm not going to send it to Sony with £160 so they can send me one back with JUST 3 month guarantee

  • This happened to me at the weekend. But I managed to fix it!!! I think it is due to poor solder contacts on the mainboard so if you get it hot enough you can reheat and set them all. Sounds weird but it works. Remove the HDD then Get a hair drier and blow it evenly into the back fan intakes for 25-35 mins. If you put your fingers in the side of the hard drive bay and they get burnt you know it is good to try again. Let it cool first, refit the drive then it should be fine. Then Back it up!!

  • i have this problem but when i press the on button it does nothing but carry on flashing. -_-

  • I have the same exact problem.. i dont know waht to do

  • I have the same problem and i don't want to pay for a new one.

  • Is that an 80gb?

  • aka yellow light of death

  • me

  • mine does the same but it turns of when im like playing a game for so long... but never when turning it on it turns of immedietly....

  • Since the light is turning yellow, it is apparently the YLoD. From what I gathered, it is an internal issue. Either sending it in for repairs or just buying a new PS3 would be best.
