London mayoral candidate Brian Paddick tries to tell Newsnight debate moderator Jeremy Paxman that he couldn't choose which of Ken Livingstone and Boris Johnson he'd rather have as mayor; Paxman openly refuses to believe him, saying with obvious derision "You can't be serious"! Though one cannot say it, both recognise that one of the people on the platform has demonstrated his ability to govern a city wisely, and the other is an ignorant buffoon who would be a disaster for the capital.

  • Well, they ARE bad in different ways. Boris would just be MORE of a disaster than Ken. I certainly can't choose between the two of them, and don't see why any of the three should be forced to give a preference at all! It doesn't bloody matter!

  • Boris would be more of a disaster than Ken in the same way that the Sun is bigger than my toes.

  • I love how Boris got the job and has actually, being fair to the man, done a pretty good job

  • @halimondore ken made mistakes, boris in power was a mistake

  • Lol I love the childishness of the phrase "they are bad in different ways"

  • @CeltiaWindsinger Its true, but us Brits go mad for a pisshead in a wig, hence Boris i s the man ;)

  • @halimondore Sorry, especially as a young Australian replying to a comment made 3 years ago...but from what I can tell, as mayor of London Ken Livingstone managed to anger many by introducing greater and more varied manners of paying tax and flawed congestion systems, while Boris Johnson, despite his demeanor, managed to put forward intelligent ideas such as disallowing alcohol on public transport and moving to lower the reliance on 'bendy-buses'. Nevertheless, I agree with your statement.

  • @GeorgeGrimz Sorry to burst your bubble but he said attractable.

  • @halimondore how would ken be better than boris? ken is man of bribes, he can be swayed by money, he does the job for money and everything in his life is done for him to earn more money.

  • @RuflessRecords Dude Thats Paxman you're talking about

    Don't dis the paxman

  • @ciphergoth What?! This is PERFECT for boris! Somewhere in the public light to entertain us, with no real power so he cant do any harm!
