"Rainbow" was composed, performed and produced by Matthew Lien for World Autism Day and ASD Care Network.

CALL FOR PHOTOS: This was originally produced for ASD Taiwan and the current video is temporary. We will soon create a final version AND WISH TO USE photos THAT you provide us, rather than the many stock images we relied on for this temp version.

I hope like this video can be universal and available to ALL who have been touched by autism. So please, if you have a photo you would like to contribute, please email to info@matthewlien.com. Thank you!

Note: This video is full HD. For optimum full-screen playback, please change the YouTube playback setting from 360p to 1080p HD in the lower-right of the player.

  • The comments from those of you experiencing life with any shade of this condition, are deeply meaningful to me. Your voices are the colours of the rainbow. Please don't feel afraid to share your feelings. We are all going through this journey of life together, and we all have something of great value to share. Thank you for being here, and for being you.

  • As the mother of a child with autism I loved the premise of the song ironically titled "Rainbow", however I was very dissappointed in the video. In my opinion it did not accurately portray the rainbow that is "autism". We are african-american, and it would have been nice to see a rainbow of children as every race is affected by this disorder. A little diversity would have been the right way to go.

  • @dkeller504 Thank you for your reply. Actually, this video was quickly assembled for an event hosted by ASD Taiwan. It is a temporary video, and a request was made for them to provide photos for a final version (rather than largely-stock images and the few they were able to provide in advance). Since their association is based in Taiwan, you can imagine the use of many non-Asian families is also not ideal. However, if you would send us your photos, we would love to include in our final version!

  • Like dragonicwolf and few other commenters I too have AS. I have an original song that goes into the rainbow, also on YouTube, you can find by searching "a colorful group of people." I actually got a lot of my inspiration from lady who wrote A is for Autism, F is for Friend. You have a great song.

  • Yes, I liked this song very much and if it ever become's available to purchase, I would certainly like to know how and where to purchase it. I have a 7yr old daughter with ASD and ADHD. Thanx, Heidi.

  • Great uplifting song. I happen to have Asperger's syndrome, so this song does hit pretty close to home for me. =)

  • My husband has Asperger's. =)

  • @makmom65 It is such a sweet story! Thank you for sharing this. The song has not been released commercially yet, but is available to all who wish to use it for any purpose related to living with autism.
