@FrostbiteUK Thanks for your reply and the information. I was just curious. I pretty much have a live and let live attitude and don't like to hear about 'over regulation' in sports and hobbies but, on the other hand, I sure wouldn't want to be hit by one of those things!

Has anyone ever died as a result of being hit by a RC airplane? I think it's only a matter of time until someone does. I noticed people walking along that road after the crash. Was the road closed during the display?

@handsfan : In the last 25 years I personally only know of 2 people that have been killed by an RC plane in the UK, one at an organised event and one in a public park (unsure if the person should have been flying there or not). This is why we are regulated by the BMFA & CAA (we also have to be insured, just like car drivers). I don't know the details of this event, so can't comment specifically. I personally wouldn't fly any aircraft over where people or property are (same as a military airshow)

@oclvcarbon123 : If you kit this plane out with good quality equipment you wouldn't get much change out of £5000 (at last years prices)

@aliander8 : I don't know, you could see in the video it was pulled from the wreckage. Personally I would have sent it away for a full test and service after that.
