The graphics are awful, the music is nonexsitent, the controls are somewhat awkward. Every character is an odd one-handed, big headed, turtleshell wearing, oddly walking mutant. I no longer hate the game though. Also, the arcade version is much worse.

  • But could this Taito game be more cheap than Capcom's Commando?

  • Well Commando has much more action so I'd say Commando is harder. I'm not too sure which game is cheaper though, the enemies in this game get quite a lot of cheap shots sometimes, so I'm leaning towards this game.

  • Not only does this game consist of only one level that loops, it really is unfairly hard to hit enemies and avoid being hit. Instead of shooting from the front as you would expect, it's always from your side, 'cause that's where your arm is hanging. This also makes it difficult to dodge enemy shots.

  • The arcade version is even worse. The only thing that was better in the game was that you could control the direction of your weapon independently, though the aiming was still terrible.

  • the arcade version is more horrible ! Add a very very very very very very very very high difficulty to all your negative points for the arcade version !

  • Yeah, I have it on Taito Legends 2. Honestly, I no longer hate this game as much as I did before, I consider this game a masterpiece when comparing it to the arcade version.

  • You know something? I can't believe I OWNED this game but it was compiled in one of those 108-in-1 carts that I've still got. When I played this, I thought it was okay but I now realise it's... pretty bad. But I assume it's one of Taito's first games before they did better ones such as Panic Restaurant.

  • @GuankiTV I would rather say it's the Medal of Honor of the '80s since Call of Duty usually has your teammates running around.

  • The Call Of Duty of the '80! Yeah!

  • Carrier

  • Real soldiers are much, much faggier.

  • I present to you the Great Gran Father of Battlefield 3

  • @gdashred totally!

  • I FUCKING LOOOOVED THIS GAME. back in the day i would buy the multi-game cartriges with like 36 games + in them. i would try to take each game and master it... and when this came along... i was AMUSED FOR fucking hours as to how simplistic and dumb everything tecchnically was... but when you get to the tanks... OMG there is no way back. you are HOOKED!!! thats great feeling of getting the big one with the big cannons!!! oMg! XD. these were part of my childhood....

  • I loved this game... I remember i just played the same "looping" level 2 hours without geting tired.

  • You guys are all crazy. Front line is THE definition of pure epicness. And it's not even hard. There are millions other NES game harder than Front Line.
