I agree. If he wanted to be friends with them he might not have asked them to stay for tea,but why was he tearing the tent down if he was going to be friends with them?
That was probably a very friendly offer that the bear gave to "The Rhymies" because after they ran away, the bear swung his arm and grunted at the same time like he was saying "Darn." Also, it looked like the bear was very hurt that "The Rhymies" ran away since the bear probably wanted to have some tea with others and he probably doesn't appreciate other people running away from him just because he's a bear.
Yes that's true. The bear was probably nice because as soon as the Rhymies ran away, the bear said "Oh gee, stay for tea" making it sound like he wanted to be friends with them. After he said that, he was disappointed at the same time when the skit ended.

I love how the bear just says "roar" in a subdued, matter of fact way when he is first spotted, as if he were saying "hey" or "yo" to a pal.
