You say to try praying for healing and THEN, if it doesnt work, turn to science. Thinking it maybe was a parody i turned to the comments, and found that there is some faith behind this so I just wonder... how long, exactly, does one need to wait before turning to science? Also, I'm just curious, how do you determine its demonstrability??

@leojboby we don't turn to science after it seems that prayer has failed. we have full faith in the power of prayer for all of our needs. However the church does not say that our members aren't allowed to turn to a doctor if that's the path they feel is best at the time. it's just that we have seen evidence of the beautiful healings when we place full reliance on Truth and on Spirit. that, therefore, makes it demonstrable. our lives attest to the legitimacy of it. :)

@WhatsHotWhatsNot20 I dont deny the possiblity of certain people have the ability to heal others. The power of pray has its benefits, but if you're hemmorrhaging seek professional medical help immediately.

How I see it is when you add the "Christian" or religious organizational aspect to science, any real scientific validation is thrown right out the window. It looses all its credibility. It becomes a psudeo science, one filled with magical thinking and divine interventions.

@Juanster23 with all respect, when we say Science in Christian Science, we don't mean the physical science that you're thinking of. The word science is given in the title because it is a demonstrable "science", such as 1+1=2. best wishes

Also for those who are confused by the term "science" in the name: "Science" literally means "knowledge". Christian Science is a modern form of the Gnostic cults who claim to have secret knowledge (occult means "hidden" btw) which give them certain powers.

Or you could just tell the truth. It's a cult which uses the writings of Mary Baker Eddy. It twists the Bible and rips verses out of context to make it say things it was never meant to say. It's a religion which seeks to use God as a tool to get relief from the pains of this life. It takes occult teachings, slaps the word "Christian" onto itself, and pulls people away from YHWH with promises of earthly happiness.
