Mount Rushmore National Monument OCT08

Rushmore again - and I will again share my disappointment with the Park System here. The set up here at the park is a true shame.
The only great quality the park had was it was free. The mountain does not take that long to take in. You park, walk up, visit the visitor's center and you know the entire story.
They put a new parking facility up, took away the free parking, and took away the parking along the main road.
There is no place to park, so you have to use the new parking facility, then place a scam $10 annual permit on your parking.
Most of all, the Interagency Annual Pass does not work here. So pay the $80 annual permit and its useless at Rushmore.
Lets face it -
First, the $80 pass does not work.
Second, The "annual permit" fee for the parking at Rushmore? (you drive across country to see Rushmore - and they insult you with an "annual permit" for parking? - What are the chances of using the pass more than once.?)
The parking permit should be dropped at Rushmore and the Interagency pass should work here.
Other than that - the new visitor's center is great.
Its not about the $10, its about the principle of the fees.
