The Road Home (recorded live at Sonic Art concert, New Zealand, 2011)

"The Road Home" is written for the traditional Vietnamese 16 strings zither, using Just Intonation tuning system, and live electronics which is processed in Max/MSP. The interactivity between the two are achieved by various real-time effects controlled by different algorithm based on the audio analysis of the zither performance. Simultaneously mechanical and organic, this piece explores the timbre of the Vietnamese zither through modulating various parameters of the signal processing techniques. "The Road Home" features a sonic mixture of the East and the West with various sound elements from the acoustic instrument, the vocalization and the electronics.
