yeah just twist and pull the leaves off. If you cut it can rot. This guy is making it a lot harder than it needs to be. Also the leaves can be brown and broken up it will still grow

His knife wasn't even sharp, it took way to much sawing for a "sharp" blade.

why dont u just twist it off an pul the leaves down intill u see roots? i have done it tht way for years and it works u did a lot of work for nothing?

I planted this pineapple in Oct as well as two others. In feb I placed them all together and all of them sprouted a fruit, by Nov I took them off.

In Oct, I grew them. By Feb they had sprouted a flower and a fruit. By Nov, the fruit was ready for pickin

You need a warm environment. I do not know your conditions, but they can grow indoors with lighting
