Would you rent a game for $40? So then why do people buy a game for $60 and trade it in for $20? That's basically what people do. You could take that $40 and spend it monthly and get FOUR games out at a time, going through as many games as you want. Oh and you'd still have money left over.

If the PS3 was $800, people would say it's way too high and might not even buy it due to that. But those same people would spend $800 on games... every 1-2 years. It just doesn't make sense.
