u right!!! Samputu's version is a cover of the original song which is the Hymn "Nearer my God to Thee" for those of us who go to churches that still use Hymn books Tenzi za Rohoni etc its there!!

This is a very beautiful song.Its a popular song in Kenya and I was happy to learn that the singer is a Rwandese.Happy to learn that pple in Rwanda speak swahili too.Isnt it beautiful?God bless Samputu and you Mvugy.
