What is The Atheist Experience?

The Atheist Experience is a weekly cable access television show in Austin, Texas, geared at an atheist and non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin (ACA), a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.

@ 01;22 If you actually do some research you will find many examples of Muslims, Hindu, Atheists, who have had NDE and do, in essence, describe the same experience. Perhaps you should open up your minds and consider the possibility. And don't get Religion, which is nothing more than rules and regulations, confused with a spiritual experience.

@drasteek You have it backwards, you pea size brained fool. Atheistic regimens have been tied to more mass murders in the worlds history than all other combined. Hitler-20 mil, Stalin-10-20mil, Mao another 10+mil, Pol Pot 2mil+ and I could go on..Also, your wife would've been gassed and put to death in any of those regimes for not being a "supremely fit and all knowing individual"..Back in the day, in China she would've been aborted for not being able to live up to "societies" standards.

There are plenty of NDE experiences that people with different religions, scientists, brain surgeons, most of whom were atheists, that have experienced an nde in which they claim they saw and felt Gods presence. Even more interesting is most claim to have seen Jesus. These are intelligent and well respected people in their profession and most have lost a certain amount of credibility in their field for coming forward which speaks volumes for their authenticity.

@me6374 I was about to say close to the same thing . Religion has nothing to do with it , except that it may ease the transition for some who believe in that (religion) from this life to the reality of who and what we are .

That is not accurate. Many people have reported various objects and what not that were on the roof of the building or on top of cabinets with surprising accuracy. And there has also been many people from other cultures that have NED's n report angels, Jesus and God.

@gohanmisticul hey you totally misunderstood what I meant.Im an atheist my self. i dont know what you believe. it really doesnt matter anyways .i agree with everything you say.i believe that we live one life but there could be more but I dont believe there would be a hell if theres a god and he has a hell I wouldnt want anything to do with him.and i agree religion is a lot about power.hey I grew up in a catholic religion give me a break ,lol peace out

@MrRteelee religion and people that believe in jesus or god are the ones who have murdered and caused the most amount of suffering in the history of humanity. Religion is the most perfect example of what is evil. You should feel bad for yourself for believing in fairy tales.Science has already saved me from diseases people used to die for. my wife would have been murdered by ppl like you for being epileptic. they would have thought shes possessed. Jesus does nothing for humanity but suffering
