Every county in California is managing a new population of criminal offenders under AB 109, Pubic Safety Realignment. AB 109 sends low-level low risk offenders that had been under state jurisdiction to counties for supervision. The law is designed to let each county have the flexibility to manage the new responsibility in the way that makes the most sense for their individual situation. San Bernardino's approach helps offenders get back on the straight and narrow -- and stay that way.
