  • @judgingyou2:

This is not a ‘catch-all’ solution to eliminating blackouts or other potential major disturbances, but it certainly contributes to a comprehensive set of solutions leading to enhanced grid reliability and greater operational security. We need to continue to work on standardization and other technology gaps to allow these improvements in technology to be integrated in a seamless and non-disruptive manner, providing benefits for the future.

  • Here's to hoping that energy companies can agree on a communication standard. It's a shame that Google PowerMeter and Microsoft Hohm was a bust, but hopefully another company can pick up the slack.

  • So then does it mean that we will not have a blackout like the Northeast Blackout in Aug 2003. because of better mass storage and improved smart grids? or do you think these gaps in software today not standarized still pose potential problems for the future?
