  • Even though you posted this one year ago, I'll reply for anyone viewing...

    I'm also a first-time HB, and everything I've heard is that waiting isn't a bad thing. Unless your hydrometer says its time to rack to the secondary, it won't hurt to wait to rack it to the secondary when you return.

    So for an update, did you wait or did you rack it before you left? How'd it turn out?

  • question: I made some IPA last saturday(12/6) and I will be leaving on vacation on 12/13 . should I transfer the beer to a secondary carboy before I leave or can I leave it in the bucket until I come back on 1/15?
