I love this story. In World War I, German, French, English & Scottish soldiers laid down their weapons in an unofficial cease fire to celebrate Christmas Eve together... they exchanged gifts and saw each other as brothers and that peace lasted for two more days. They even prayed together and played soccer. This is one of the greatest miracles and showed that all men, no matter their creed, culture or political view, wants the same thing: PEACE!!

When I listened to this song by Collin Ray, back in 1996, I couldn't believe that there wasn't a movie about it yet, but finally someone made one and it's called JOYEUX NOELLE. It's really beautiful and one of the best movies I've ever seen so I included some pics from that movie in the video.

"If it could happen then, it could happen again..."

Note: I don't own the rights to this song so please let me know if there is a problem using it this way so I will take the video down inmediately. Thank you.

  • is this narrated by johnny cash

  • @dtmsonsnl Yes, it is. He did a fine job...

  • As I understand, they refused to fight against each other after that wonderful experience, so the soldiers on both sides were sent to fight on other places...

  • This song moves me so much and it actually makes me cry. :) I listen to this song no matter what time of year it is. I listen to it on every Christmas Eve and Christmas Day...every year since I was 10 and my dad's best friend was killed in Iraq :)

  • @xARIAHUGHES Yes, it's a beautiful song and it holds a message of a world united in peace. We have more things in common than differences. Deep down peace is what matters the most. Hope one day we realize that... Regards!

  • @willdabeast33 a lagre number of the men wouldnt fight so they were sent to diffrent parts of the fronts it kinda shows they did care and the shouldnt have been there if they could still care for a man who he has been shooting at for a year

  • seemed like a cool video about common humanity, ended up being obnoixous christian faggotry.

  • i just watchd dis movie in social nd I lovd dis part nd da ending

but da only thing tht botherd me was the sex scene

  • I wish that peace has lasted for longer... I really love this story! Screw Rudolph, THIS is a real Christmas story!!

  • A heart moving song, a wonderful story. I found this song to download on amazon. Also there, Oh Holy NIght: The Peace of 1914, a short illustrated book about the Christmas truce that focuses on some of the soldiers' letter to home which describe that day.

  • Wonder who the 2 who are who dislike this? How could you not like a truce or a peace????

  • Yet they went on to slaughter each other as the war went on. It doesn't make any sense to me how they could still kill one another after this. Just shows you how brainwashed some men are. They will do anything they are told to do.

  • this song remineds me of my grandad and his dad cuz his dad in ww1 and

    my grandad traned in ww2
