One of the most immense and profound ideas in science, quoted by Carl Sagan, one of the greatest scientists of our century.
The video is from the film Contact, based on the book written by Carl Sagan. It is quite fitting.

  • My logic sense tells me that this is right. If you could zoom down on an object far more than it's possible today, you'd never reach an end. Same goes for zooming out...

  • That is a very scary thought to me, but whatever. As Carl said, it is better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, no matter how reassuring.

  • wow, this is the perfect blend of COSMOS and CONTACT, good job

  • "Stirring!" Thanks xeedee! We seem to have a real Sagan revival taking root! Stop by my page and check out my Carl Sagan tributes, shot in his adopted hometown of Ithaca, NY.

PS Keep on helping us see for Carl.
