Most people in poverty still have cable/satellite TV and many poor people smoke as well. If they really wanted internet instead, they could dump cable and smokes and save up for a computer and internet. I should know it's possible--I haven't had cable/satellite since 2008 and I have no desire to go back to it (and I don't smoke or drink!). Poor people can use the library for internet as well.

@blacksonville1, YOU CAN GET INTERNET ACCESS AT ANY PUBLIC LIBRARY!!!!! We tax payers are ALREADY paying for free internet for anyone that can’t afford it!

More entitlements?
I am all in favor of working towards seeing that everyone can have Internet. But I am not in favor giving it as an entitlement.

You want free internet access, go to a public library. You want internet access at home, get a job and pay for it yourself, you lazy free-loading fuQs.
