The Killing of Cernavoda Dogs (2010) - Le uccisioni dei randagi a Cernavoda (Romania - 2010)

This video was shot during 2 months of investigation run by Save the Dogs and Other Animals. It shows how stray dogs have been caught and killed since Cernavoda City Hall has made a contract with Alf Mob, the company managing the Bio Baza killing pound in Constanta. The footage has been given to the police to support the complaint made by Save the Dogs at the police. Most of the dogs caught and killed had been previously neutered and vaccinated by Save the Dogs, during an 8 years period of time.

Il video è stato girato dall'organizzazione italiana Save the Dogs and Other Animals nel corso di due mesi di appostamenti. Le immagini mostrano le catture (a Cernavoda) e le uccisioni dei randagi (a Costanza) ad opera della società Alfmob, che gestisce il canile "Bio Baza" di Costanza, con cui il comune di Cernavoda ha stretto un contratto. La maggior parte dei cani catturati era stata sterilizzata e vaccinata dall'associazione italiana nel corso di 8 anni di progetto sul territorio. Il material evideo è stato depositato presso le autorità di polizia di Costanza insieme ad una denuncia nei confronti della ditta Alfmob.

Dear firend, Indian Blue Cross made a reseach about the trend of rabies cases in the area where killings have been performed and where neuter/vaccination/release programs were run. I am sorry to inform you that the only relevant dicrease of rabies cases was stated where the N&R programs were applied, not where the killings where. You can find the research pon the internet, it was made by Indiaan vets and experts.

@purimma: if the dogs in cernavoda are irradiated, then also 24.000 people (us included!) all are contagious! They are normal stray dogs, caught in different towns of Costanza area, not only in cernavoda. Almost 600 dogs per month have been killed in this pound since 2001 in Romania.

@alex: esiste un rifugio gestito da noi a cernavoda, e lavoriamo da 9 anni per arginare le nascite tramite sterilizzazioni gratuite. I cani non dovevano essere presi e uccisi, non ha nessun senso. Ora sono arrivati nuovi cani da fuori - non vaccinati, non sterilizati e spesso non socievoli. Si sono spese decine di migliaia di euro (soldi pubblici) per arricchire la diotta Alfmob di Costanza e non risolvere nulla.

Would like to know how many of the dogs are being allowed to be adopted out to good homes? Also how are the dogs being HUMANLY put down that are not adopted (if any)???

Dear friend, the statics of the adoptions are visible on our website: 602 animals were rehomed in 2010.

We do not put down healthy dogs. Cheers!

Somebody should make a Documentary about the 25000 yes 25 thousand of ppl mostly children in India whom Die each year because Stray Dog's attacks.Most of'em die o Rabies and knows that has Rabies but can't afford the Doctor's fees.So the're suffer for up to 2yrs with Rabies.But no one cares about them they are only Human.Yes it's unfortunate and sad but necessary to make sure it doesn't get out of control in Romania as it did in India.I do have 2 Dogs and both are rescued from shelters
