  • I totally agree - vets who are moving forward are becoming very popular, over and above the vets who refuse to move on. But still such a long way to go yet for the veterinary profession to move on as a whole and remove the barriers to an intergrative system that includes holistic and conventional healing.

  • It's also sadly clear that many vets do not continue their education after their college days. So many do not update their treatments even after new knowledge comes out. I think that is a dereliction of duty.

    So many vets are still annually vaccinating and refuse to admit Heartworm is seasonal in most places. They prescribe overdosages of vaccines and antibiotics in the belief that it can do no harm, and don't bother to learn what is becoming common knowledge to anyone with the internet.
