Assassins Creed Brotherhood and Revelations are just continuous games for Assassins Creed II.
Assassins Creed III is coming out in October 2012 with a completely new Assassin!

And if the game was set in the modern ages... the game would be shit, Assassins Creed suits into the old ages like The Renaissance and The Reformation, maybe even in the times of England planting Ireland between 1550 -1600. anywere between the 1600s and 1800 would make a good Assassins Creed game, and last I heard, ACIII is going to be set up in The French Revolution in the 1700s
