Paul Simon's 'Gumboots' (cover)

Live at The Hideaway, Tufnell Park, North London, June 2011. I actually performed this the day after seeing Paul Simon live at Hammersmith Apollo, where he did the song with his 8-piece band, along with 5 other songs from the Graceland album. I can't compete with that, especially when my horn section is a kazoo, but what the hell. I used to do this song as a full-on Ska number with the band I was in a few years ago, and it always went down a storm as an encore.
Thanks to my ex band-mate Jessie Pie for hosting the night (and for reprising her backing vocals from her seat in the audience), and to the trusty old man for filming the whole thing. It was a 'cosy' night (ie hardly anyone turned up) so I was able to perform entirely acoustically, which I prefer. Although it sometimes does look weirdly like I'm using the microphone that's actually a couple of feet behind me.
