So far, only one bus has the Automated Announcements. They are from a company called Clever Devices. Other Transit Systems like WMATA (Washington, DC) and MUNI (San Fransisco, California) uses Clever Devices AA system.

In the video, I had the system manually speak out random streets name, but when the bus goes into service, the driver has to sign the system up onto the route it will be doing, and it will start calling out the stops automatically over the existing PA speakers.

Recorded from bus 5032, which is a 2009 Orion VII NG HEV.

  • Arret Demovie. I wish CATS had something like that.

  • It's pronounced "Arret Demande"

  • thank god she doesnt have a british accent, like the O-Train LoL

  • The female voice is from an employee of Clever Devices. Same story with the Male voice. I believe the female O-Train's Automated Announcement's voice is computerized.

  • @newflyer800 is there only one bus in the fleet that is testing the clever systems right now

  • Very nice video thanks for sharing

  • I have confirmed that none of the High Floors will receive Auto Announcements.

  • Yeah I doubt they'll put it on the high floors, because aren't all the buses required to be accessible by 2011 or something? Not worth the time/money.
