there is a  myth out there that this act is related to not liking oneself, I think in most if not all cases, that nothing to do with it. Its caused by sexual deprivation which is caused by societal forces (money concentrated in the hands of few) that take the beautiful women off the market, which then matches up average looking women with good looking men, and then there is not much left for average looking men. thats why and then that leaves a good amount of decent lookjing men out

However, I've know dudes hooked on coke and meth...worked along side of them and never suspected, nor did our supervisors or their families. Some addicts are very functional and capable at concealing the truth, quite adept at it because their survival as addict depends on it.
