Someday I want to come see this. How old is this tradition?
-
@rosieace202 Why not? My mother lived on the island and saw both and she's alive and well. In fact, she introduced me to Maureen Beebe just a few years ago. As far as I know, she's still alive and well. So perhaps squ6666666 visited the island or lived there in the 1940's.

@hop3777 yeah man
what, you gonna get PETA on our trail aren't ya
-
@hop3777 its not that far........... i mean i could swim that if i wanted to.......
-
I think this is very wrong making them cross so far. It's very stressful on these wild ponies...even if they are wild it's not natural.
-
Why would they put a bridge up?
-
this is awsome i can't believe they do this
-
@squ666666 you did NOT see the REAL stormy OR misty!im 100% sure of THAT!
-
@BaileyBlueFire They DO have a bridge up. xD They just don't use it for the swim, except for putting the very old, very young, and very pregnant ponies in a trailer and taking 'em across instead of swimming to Chincoteague and bringing an intire herd (Whether it's the north or south I forget) back over instead of swimming them back.
