A short slideshow of Juan Ponce De Leon's achievements. Born in Santervas de Campos in 1474; Got his exploration career started when he joined Christopher Columbus on his 2nd voyage to the new world; Established first Puerto Rican settlement at Caparra in 1508; Authorized by King Charles V to discover and populate Bimini, and find the Fountain of Youth in 1512; Discovered Florida in 1513; Returned to Florida for colonization and was struck by an Indian arrow; Returned to Havana, Cuba and died shortly after; His tomb is located in the cathedral at Old San Juan, and has monument in St. Augustine, Florida

Not a bad tribute to a very late ancestor of mine. The explorer blood still flows through me each time I am in nature.

this information is good, however not totally accurate. Research the findings of historians Col. Douglas Peck and Frank Thomas for a corrected account for history.
