For this tutorial i used an alternative IDE called CodeSurge, this can be found on the TGC (the game creators) forums.

  • great tutorial, but next time don't have any background music. Try to keep all the words in a normal text and maybe try using voice, but other than that it was a pretty good tutorial! Keep it UP! MAKE LOTS MORE!

  • Ok thanks, ill keep that in mind :)

  • @espritdautomne There's DarkGDK(I think it was called that) for c++(I think)

  • youtube fucked up again

  • is there a DarkC++ or DarkC? I just don't want to do Basic.

  • how did you get that cool circle around your mouse

  • I got it, I took a look at the commands.

Dark basic, will only load the image, in order to get it on the screen i had to write the code " Paste Image 1 and the x,y numbers "

HEy, like i hope you will make more tutorials, you could even show this to the game creators, as far as i know they need some tutorials for DarkBasicPro too.

  • The tutorial is really good, i got to learn how to load images, the problem is that they dont show up on the screen.

I like saved the project and i made the following :

    load image "media\dirt.jpg" ,1

    wait key

but the image didnt showed, so i tried at the end ",1,640,480" but its the same, a black screen why?

  • It's great to see someone else writing tutorials for DarkBASIC Professional! A couple of tips if it's alright with you.

The bloom on the text makes it hard to read when compressed to youtube standards. I've no doubt it looks great rendered in high quaility video but you need to take youtube's compression into account.

The sound track, while stimulating, doesn't lend itself well to concentration, audio commentary would be ideal.

It's great you are taking the time to help others!

  • I really don't understand why this video has so little views! This tutorial is great! It really helped me understand how to declare the varibles. Please do more on how to use math to manipulate your varibles, and how to control 3d objects, cameras, and pictures.

  • Probably Camtasia studio, for the video recording, and most likely Adobe AfterEffects or another similar program for basic video editing. Oh and Adobe Photoshop or another Imagery program for the images.

  • Great video, make more!
