@liberator48 eve will last for another 15 years at least. CCP has promissed not to close severs before 2025 and probably wouldn't do so since eve is still growing on players, just hit record on 62k players online on one sever

i wonder if i were to start playing eve now if there would be enough time to grow into a somewhat significant state of power before the game ends and servers die... or if i had played since launch, how powerful i would have been now! My point is.. it takes soooo long to grow in power in EVE online, but the amount one can grow is nearly endless, i believe...

planets are going to have use in game....finally! You can do something with them, im not sure exactly, but check the tyrannis trailer (which is very epic).

@ramprire We get to build infrastructure on them so we can make stuff that was previously only acquired from NPCs. One more part of the in-game economy will now be in our own hands.
Then Dust will let us fight for planet territory by proxy. :D
