Here is my first batch of Red smoke mix, using a composition without the use of Lactose Powder, in its place is Icing Sugar.
Personally, i think Lactose will increase the intensity, but this is not a bad effort!
It was very wet and windy, outside, so considering that, i think the smoke produced was impressive!
i really wanted to cough, as i got swamped in smoke, but i held it in to preserve a good video! the sacrifices i make for you guys!
Composition was contained within a 3/4" ID, 3 1/2" LONG tube.
Formula:
Red Dye - 50%
KClO3 - 30%
Icing Sugar - 20% (a test to see if could be substituted in place of Lactose powder)
Ignition was a length of Red Falling leaf fuse, dug through the composition to ensure proper ignition, the delay composition was KClO3/ Sugar, again to ensure a proper ignition (and also to help maintain an even burn!, it worked!) baering in mind, im not sure you actually need this, i just like to do so for peace of mind!
overall i think it wasnt a bad effort, next test will be with Lactose powder, in replacement with Icing Sugar.
