The dragon returns to true training within the folds of winter's grip. - Here I am training in full harness- it's so nearly complete!

Music:
First song- Cohka by Apocalyptica (I love that group)
Second song- UNknown orchestral piece. (Sorry I don't know where it came from. But I likes it!)

Weapons in order of appearance:
1) Ronin series large throwing axe (By united cutlery)
2) Custom designed kite shield. (By Greg and Brian. Friends who can make anything out of a hot water tank!)
3) Godfred viking rider sword (By Hanwei/paul Chen)
4) Throwing daggers (By Greg. He can make lots from train spikes too!)
5) Ronin series wakizashi. (By united cutlery)

Other Accoutrements:
- Hand made chain shirt. 54000 (yes that's right, 54k!) links; approx. 38 pounds.
- A fine fighting/riding cloak lovingly made by my girlfriend Ginn (She's in the comic-thingmy!) Don't devalue the ability of cloth to entangle and tie up your opponent. ... and sometimes yourself if you're not paying attention ¬_¬.
- Weapon belt is a basic nylon duty belt. Hardly period but hey it works rather nicely.
- An old but still hardy bush knife that needs a new sheath (The duct-tape colored blob hooked in the loop of my dagger pack). It has found a new duty as my eating knife.

Disclaimers:
I was training with weapons that are very real, and very dangerous. These are NOT toys to be waved around lightly. You can NOT take back mistakes or careless strokes. Do not, under any circumstances, do things like this without having a full and complete understanding of the safety issues involved and ALWAYS treat these weapons with the intense respect they rightly deserve. Believe me you won't want to spend the rest of your life dealing with the consequences if you don't.

Fun, respect, and safety always should go hand in hand.

  • Absolute best way to trim the hedges/trees. :D

  • @Lenholly345 Damn straight! garden shears are for pansies I say. PANSIES! Mwahahaaa!

  • you would make an impressive larper.

  • ...Somehow I don't think they'd appreciate me bringing my blades to their boffers though *sinister chuckle*

it's all look anyways. When I'm finally done I'll be the sort to be found standing on the hilltop, my armor glistening in the sun, my cloak flowing in the wind, my sword drawn proudly as I let loose a warcry both epic and awe inspiring... The I'd run RIGHT up the spear of the enemy line and die.

    ...

...But I'd look good doing it by gum!

  • I recommend the Arms & Armour Nordland Axe you can pick it up at Kult of Athena for around $65. Pretty cheap considering the brand is one of the more high end ones.

  • Yeah The sword buyer's guide has generally good things to say about cult of athena as well. They find really good pricings for what they sell.

  • Don't know if you remember me. Doesn't matter much, I suppose.

From your comment reply 6 months ago (wow...long time...), I see you're still using Takamizuna's banana slug, and having a great time doing so. Oddly enough, so have I.

Need practice with the axe. A lot of practice. Nice sword, though. I need to get one so I can train as well.

Seeing the pic of you posing in the chain mail at the end, I realized you look like an older version of me. I like that idea, actually...

  • it isn't meant to cut like that. Nor does a person have to cut a foot deep into their opponent to disable them. Considering a 1/4 inch box cutter can do the job well enough, I think this one can do the trick too.

  • Heh yeah on both counts. I'm still figuring the ins and outs of that axe (I have two now tee hee). The hard part is practicing using it for grappling and lockups considering I don't have a partner willing to wrestle with a sharp hunk of steel. ...For obvious reasons.

And Godfred is so far my very favoritest sword. I hear a lot of people scoff because it doesn't cut through tatami like a katana. To me it just shows their lack of imagination.

  • Horrendous with the axe...half those swings woulda with the side....but i know u sed it was your 1st time, so pass.....but not half bad with the sword....thats a nice one btw....lil steep in the coin tho at 400 american thats counting shipping....well later.

  • Hehe thanks man! It was actually my first time using an axe and I must say that I liked how it felt. It seemed pretty natural to me. It also helped that the axe's design was light and quick so I could swing it quickly with little effort.

  • Hehe yeah, especially when wearing thirty pounds of steel (Give or take) and having a bad habit of not breathing while acting. @_@

  • So anyone who does this, be it fox or wolf or robin or bananna slug or dragon or phoenix or whatever, can easily call him/herself an otherkin.

  • Yes you have the song right indeed. It is one of those powerful, soulful songs that come to life in my mind every single time I listen to it. I love it too, and am definitely going to check out your channel.

As for the other question, I do think that some furries could call themselves otherkin as well. It just has to do with how you want to apply the words. Personally I use Otherkin as meaning someone who uses the connection with someething non-human as a spiritual path...

  • good job dude- great axe flow!!!!!!!!!!!

  • dude lost beath on know fight like that is hard hay you have my ninja sword lololololo cool

  • OMWOMWOMWOMW that beginning piece! "Dragon's Breath" by David Arkenstone! Right? I love that tune so much! I even did a cover on it on my ocarina! Come check my channel!

    *takes deep breath*

Lol, sorry bout the excitedness and whatnot, I too am somewhat of a dragon at heart. I haven't really delved into your other videos, but do you believe that some "furries" are just a manifestation of otherkin?

  • and in this scene frodo is fighting the evil tree of mordor who will win watch and find out

  • dude ginn is looking good.. wanna share. hahaha jkjkjk settle your hormones

  • No worries on that end mate. Most of those moves were just swinging around for the camera anyways. Unfortunately I'm not that good at practicing technique without a partner to fight against, so until I convince my friends to come and play too it's just movie-trailer wannabe stuff for me.

Thanks for the advise, and the concern though ^_^

  • Hate to tell you this mate. Though I'm surprised nobody else has. Your 'technique' is far too pretty. You'd do well in front of a movie camera, but toe-to-toe with someone intent on your death? Dragon-meat. Most sword fights would last three to four moves. From one otherkin to another, be careful. Make your strikes and steps count in a battle.

  • Well I am allowed to have a hobby too yanno. :-P I mean I have a geeky rep to uphold!

Besides anyone with half a brain can tell this has nothing to do with my Draconity. I just like swords and medieval stuff as well.

  • For someone who wants draconic otherkin to be taken seriously, this is not helping

  • That would be Ginn. my girlfriend of the last oh... five years or so. ^_^

  • Who's the girl?
