  • Hi Christian,

I'm just curious, have you taken MFR courses w/ John F. Barnes? I'm glad to hear MFR is spreading but concerned that if it's not JFB-MFR it's not the same. Also, in your segment there was no mention of him.

  • Hi there

thanks for your posting. As you know Myofascial Release is a technique that can be used in conjuction with certain theories of how the body works. John Barnes has his own particular theories, and I have mine. I was inspired more by Ida Rolf's principals, and as you can see on the follow up video, I am able to achieve those results. So you are right, my practical approach, probably won't be the same as John Barnes, however the technique itself will be the same.

  • it works amazingly for posture and back pain, and the knock on effects are great, improved health and fitness levels! Christian is a great therapist!

  • Just seen your comments, thanks for that. I will be doing some more videos in the new year... watch this space.

  • hi Divinesoul,

I see a lot of therapists who treat their tutor as if they are some kind of messiah (and I dont mean that in a bad way), however, there are so many different ways to look at fascia, and if you just stick with one theory, in my opinion you dont give the best treatment. Fascial treatments should be the same as every other type of therapy....intuitive...and not based on what any one person has shown you.

John Barnes is one theory, but there are lots of others out there too.

  • amazing video. I like the part 2 section. I've had myofascial release used on me before and it really improved my back. More people should be aware of the benefits I believe. :-)
