Retired intelligence analyst, Ray McGovern served 27 years in the CIA. Affable, witty, avuncular, Ray describes his years of service and the environment he experienced within the agency in its early years and contrasts this with the increasingly politicized atmosphere in the current administration, including the unprecedented pressure brought to bear on the agency from the Vice President's office to fit intelligence to its case for war.
Today, Mr. McGovern works with Tell the Word, the publishing arm of the ecumenical Church of the Saviour in Washington, DC. He served as an Army infantry/intelligence officer in the early 60s, and then as a CIA analyst for the next 27 years. He is on the Steering Group of Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity (VIPS). He also writes for Common Dreams. • America...has become the Great Satan.

Let's take back our country and make it live up to it's Constitutional Values.

Impeach Bush & Cheney. Try & sentence them for crimes against humanity. Then...execute the sentence.

  • To me it seems like a poker game where honesty or doing right is only an imposition. One does not gamble to lose, they gamble to get the rush of winning. The don't do it for a living, they do it like a junky does drugs. They gotta have it. The rule is cheating. In this case the organized criminals are hijacking the wealth of the country, which to them is all the money.

  • This guy is wishfully thinking he can worm out of the stigma of inaptness of skill and wisdom of the Agency he worked for. He produced it!

As far as the Leadership of our Military, they too, lack skill and wisdom.

Go to the Congress and White House and we will truly go to the inaptness of skills and wisdom.

    Who's kidding whom?

  • any body that is mis informed in todays world is simply a willfully ignorant coward hiding behind the guise of mis information. we have becomed the most informed , misinformed generation ever in the history of the world. enough . how about doing something about it . talk . talk . talk . our verbosity has ceased our veracity. we are the victims of our own clutter of meaningless words. how long will we stare the evidence of our plight in face and ignore our folly.

  • being missinfomed and being a coward is two different things,

the problem is we are sleep walking in a delusional reality created by shadow goerments,

  • so the proplem is we are all cowards being lead to the slautter

  • yeah kenguere

    Time for some real change

  • kick ass man

  • i wish i knew! There is basic cause and effect. Traditionally people reward themselves by taking from others. The better they get at it; the more destabilized the construct becomes. I tend to think that the whole thing has to be entrusted to or governed by artificial intelligence, with humanitarian input, rather than the greed and torpedoing effect. Part of the problem is i could be put to death for saying that.

  • so the question here is... what do we, as the people, do a bout this?
