Glowstick Reaction Rate 0809 #1

I do a series of demonstrations to show factors that can affect the rate of chemical reaction. This demonstration is about he affects of temperature (and how generally heat will speed up a chemical reaction). It also serves as an introduction to endothermic and exothermic reactions. Here the brightness of the glowsticks can be seen to change as they are added to water of different temperatures.

if the reaction is going faster does that mean the glow stick that was in warmer water will lose its brightness faster than the rest of the glowsticks?

Increased temperature leads to increased collisions of molecules which leads to a faster reaction.

What can I do to make more variables for this kind of lab PLease reply ASAP thanks

@narutofanjustin I suppose you could do more temperature values. Beyond that the only thing I can think of using to safely modify this lab is to cut open the glowstick and add your own hydrogen peroxide in different volumes and/or concentrations.  I suppose outside of visually observing brightness you could quantitatively measure it or you could measure total glow time, depending on how much time you have.
