Great song, bad audio on this video. You can't record a show while standing in front of a guitar amp. It's better to go to the back and get the whole sound.
@DasIstMeinKampyCouch yeah, but if you do that then you end up with a vague glimpse of the stage through the middle of a sea of heads. I guess the perfect situation is to have someone at the front with a camera and someone at the back with a mic, but then that requires teamwork. (And you don't *always* get bad results my way...) Actually I know for a fact that someone did a proper boot of this show; if I get permission I'll resync that audio to this video and re-upload.
@sighkid Well, unless you're working the soundboard you'll never get a great sound. But the average hand-held camera isn't build to consume the amount of noise projected by a band in a venue.
@DasIstMeinKampyCouch True, which is why for most of the videos I've put up in the last year I've recorded the sound separately on a Zoom H1 with the levels set manualy and then synced that to the video afterwards (unlike this one which was done back when I just used the camera mic.) But like you say that's still not gonna help if you're too close to the amp / drums. But I freely admit I prioritise video over audio most of the time.
